Easter eggs is NOT the reason for this season

Living through this pandemic has taught me to be gratefu
It's in the little things like a friend's excitement to see you when you haven't seen one another in week
I remember always looking forward to this time of the year for the Easter eggs.
We would count how much we got and eat them as slow as possible.
Compete in who can keep theirs the longest do you could make the others mouth water while you eat yours and theirs are all finished.
The thought of not getting any or not being able to eat it yet was pure torture and I can promise you we were made to wait before we could indulge in any Easter bunnies.
The older I got the more my understanding grow about what the main reason for the season truly was about.
I may have been around grade 6 or 7 when my parent and I watched The passion of Christ on Easter day.
The scene where Jesue is bruise for our sins, beaten to the ground by whips.
The ladhed on his back made a collision of different roads each one of travel unknown to us.
it's a memory that will stick in my mind forever an it may not even be the full scope of what took place during the time.
It had nothing to do with me or how much Easter eggs I would get to eat but it was all about Jesus.
The betral, His innocentence and His blood that covers us till this day.

When we look into the book of Isaiah 53 verse 5-8
Isa.53.5 - But it was our sins that did that to him, that ripped and tore and crushed him--our sins! He took the punishment, and that made us whole. Through his bruises we get healed. -
Isa.53.6 - We're all like sheep who've wandered off and gotten lost. We've all done our own thing, gone our own way. And GOD has piled all our sins, everything we've done wrong, on him, on him.
Isa.53.7 - He was beaten, he was tortured, but he didn't say a word. Like a lamb taken to be slaughtered and like a sheep being sheared, he took it all in silence.
Isa.53.8 - Justice miscarried, and he was led off--and did anyone really know what was happening? He died without a thought for his own welfare, beaten bloody for the sins of my people.

I hope that this Easter is celebrated with family and friends as we remember Jesus.
