The Power of Affirmations

Can I be 100% real and mention how afraid I've been of quiet a few things lately.
I've been dragging my feet in starting my podcast because of fear and not just that but lack of belief.
My mom had a honest talk with me where she planted seed. I've started slow but surely building new sense of self.
Building my 'can do' attitude instead of allowing negative whispers to pour into my thought process.
It's got me thinking, this is why I started this blog.
I came with the full intention to share not to make this my personal diary but knowing that there are many other who talk themselves out of so many dreams.
Talk themselves out of taking a jump in the deep end because its risky and uncomfortable.
I recall sitting in the food court at work and overheard someone say "I'm so tired of just surviving I want to start living".
My question then is "if your so used to surviving would you even know what it is to really live and how do you measure living - do you measure it by social standards? off of what would you base it? Why do you feel your not living and what will you do to change that".
Ponder on that for a little bit would you?

In reading the book 'The Magic Of Thinking Big' I've re-discovered that I don't believe in myself as much I thought I did or as I believe in a friend or family members.
And doesn't that happen a lot? We are so quick to give out advise and encouragements but when it comes to us applying it in our own lives we fall short.
We self sabotage when longing to start something new.
Allow doubt in ourselves and our capabilities to hold us back.
But I started using simple affirmations to start off my day.
Maybe you've heard of this trick but never tried it so here it goes.
"Today is going to be a good day" it's more than just setting a expectation for the day but fully believing in your heart that it's going to be a good day because you made a active choice.
I'd even add in and telling my colleagues close to me "Today's going to be a good day guys. Lets take it by storm and do our best" see simple.
I've been slowly feeding myself these truths.
Actively choosing to believe that the 'I can' attitude will get me ahead of my emotional state, boost my mental state and over all health.
I remind myself -not on a daily basis I admit but I do remind myself that:
"I am loved"
"I'm brave and bold"
"I am beautiful"
"I forgive myself for..."
"I am created by a perfect creator who made me in His image"
"His strength is perfect"
We all need a pick me up and the sad thing about it is that we can't depend on other's to lift us up all the time.
We have to be our own hype men/women.
Speak life into your own lives and not just into your neighbors.
Don't neglect your mind, spirit and body.
