Good things come with time: Life Update

We form bonds with one another through common interests or history.

This is the thought that's been swarming in my head for a while now.

I've been meeting a lot of new people, seeing how they engage with one another whether you've known one another for years or just met.

There are people you just connect with, right??

Before I go any further let me an example of how I came to these thoughts.

August 2020, I decided to resign from my job with immediate effect.

Yes, I resigned in the middle of a global pandemic, during lockdown where people were losing their jobs and companies were closing down.

I decided to leave mine...

It sounds crazy, I know it doesn't make logical sense to make such a risky move.

In fact, it was probably one of the most daring things I've ever done.

I believed that I'll get something new and I knew my season at the company has come to an end.

I know this because I felt at peace with the choice and I had to allow the peace God has given me, lead me in the assurance that it was the right move for the next phase of my life.

Now I may have had peace about the choice but making the move brought on so much anxiety, it brought on so many what-ifs.

I found myself second-guessing, trying to talk myself out of how I was going about things.

Telling myself to wait and see how things play out, reminding myself that I need to be thankful for having a job.

And yet I built up enough courage to send the resignation letter pushing all my fears and doubt aside.

I had to have crazy faith!!! Yes Michael Todd I did the things (but only through God's guidance)

In the midst of my concerns, I had to believe that God will turn things around for my good and trust His leading.

One month turned into two and I felt like I've applied to a dozen places, receiving no feedback.

I'm not even going to lie some days I felt so discouraged but it was quotes like above and a great support system that kept me going.

Having the Word, worship, and prayer as my foundation that carried me through those feelings that lead me to think 'I'm not good enough to get a certain job' or 'I don't fit the mold, will I fit someone's mold?' 'what if I do get the job and I can't cope' or 'what if I don't find anything at all'.

On the third month of unemployment God came through, His timing as perfect as ever!!

It all happened so quickly I couldn't catch myself by the end of October I was placed in training for my new job.

I've been privileged to meet and make new friends, placed in a good work environment, and given a great support structure.

It has been challenging (it still is) and rewarding all in one go.

I've re-learned things that I've known about myself but now need to address and un-learn them. It's a painful process but through every shortfall, there is still progress.

It's been only a small shift in your journey but a huge step in your life and that's how God moves.

He doesn't make it loud or clear for the naked eye to see but he lets you in on a little of the action by asking you to trust Him.

I don't know what your mountain looks like right now and I definitely don't know your struggle but I hope this testimony will encourage you to keep pushing.

It's only been a small shift in my journey but a huge step in my life and that's how God moves.

He doesn't make it loud or clear for the naked eye to see but he lets you in on a little of the action by asking you to trust Him.

"Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen."

Hebrews 11:1
