9th of August 1956 more than 20,000 women changed South African history!!

On this particular day these brave woman marched to the Union Building in Pretoria to petition against the country's pass laws. South Africans defined as "black" were required to carry an internal passport also known as a pass.

This was implemented to form segregation during the Apartheid era.

The women stood silently for 30 minutes and then started singing a protest song that was composed in honor of the occasion:

'Wathint'Abafazi Wathint'imbokodo' "Now you have touched the women, you have struck a rock"

In more recent years the phrase has been reincarnated to "you strike a woman, you strike a rock"

The message these women are showing and owning is resilience. How it's built into our DNA as women to stand firm like any other man can.

In the time that we are currently living in gender base violence , domestic violence, sexual harassment in the workplace, unequal pay etc.

It calls to action once again "You strike a women you strike a rock" we are so much more then what meets eye. We birth generations that in itself is a gift

Beautiful, vivacious strong, intelligent, sassy, confident, meek, vulnerable, valuable 1 in a million women. There is something absolutely profound about YOU!

Your are wonderfully and fearfully made by the creator of the galaxies and He created you perfectly imperfect.

"For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb.

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well."

- Psalms 139:13-14

Happy Womens day to all!♡
