Why Unshackled Fear?

Today I would like to share my why, why I started this blog, and how it came about...
I've contemplated creating a blog for years!
I didn't know where to start, what the purpose of the blog would be, and the conscious underlining thought/fear that people would not be interested in what would be shared.

I remember meeting up with friends, talking about life, music, and God in that order!
We laughed at old memories shared and I was in conversation with a particular friend about studies and work.
This is more or less how the conversation went down:
"So how are things going with you, you still working at the same place right?" he asks genuinely interested.
"Yes, things are alright but it's not really what I want to do" I sigh out, already anticipating the follow-up question.
"Okay, so what is it that you want to do?" patients laces his features yet his eyes expecting a thoughtful answer.
"I want to do too much. I want to write a book, drive into photography, perform spoken word poetry, study psychology /counseling..."
And his simple response was "Why don't you do it?" my mind silenced, all the counteract answers I could have used as a fall back came to a halt "Do what?".
"Why don't you do it, do all of it. What is stopping you?"
His words were so simple but weighed a ton, I was rendered speechless searching for excuses.
When I eventually sat down and allowed my mind to dwell on the possibilities I figured "Why not".

This is one of many conversations, memories that I mark, paste a sticky note on when I'm in doubt. When I wonder why I started something and want to quit in the middle.
Unshackled Fear stems from a place of absolute surrender.
I know that fear is a part of our lives, a defense mechanism our brain puts into action when we are out of our comfort zone, when situations are not in our control.
Our thoughts wage war with internal monolog and external expectations.
This is one of many conversations, memories that I mark, paste a sticky note on when I'm in doubt. When I wonder why I started something and want to quit in the middle.
I created a website for my blog on 28 June 2020 ( I had started the process two weeks prior but only published on said date). I recall the wave of panic that overcame me, fear/anxiety at it's finest before publishing my first blog post.
'You should have had it figured out' addresses the idea that by 25 you should have your ducks in a row.
My personal drive behind it was to speak against my own fear and speak out against fear, speak against unworthiness and self-doubt.
We hold so much value but our fear and insecurities blind us from seeing ourselves clearly.
Even in our unworthiness, we were still worth God sending his son to pay the ultimate price in exchange for our lives. Who are we to think any less of His creation and who He created us to be.
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
~ John 3:16
Prayer
Heavenly Father,
I pray that the purpose of this blog would bring You glory and whoever
stumbles upon (intentionally and unintentionally) this site will be encouraged and uplifted. I pray that Your peace reigns in our hearts knowing full well that You are good and your plans are perfect.
Thank You, Lord, that You are the potter and we are the clay, continually molding us, covering us, and pursuing us.
Amen
